Montville Township
Montville is known as 'The Creative Heart of the Sunshine Coast', it has a true village charm exceptional to all other centres. You will find a pleasant blend of Tudor, Irish and English cottages of log or stone, Swiss and Bavarian chalets, an old mill water-wheel, colonial and old Queenslanders and of course, one of the most spectacular and panoramic views over a coastal plain one could find in Australia. There are excellent galleries in the area offering a wide
selection of work by local artists. The many gift shops, galleries,
potteries and eateries offer everything from traditional dishes to
continental delicacies. The many art galleries both exhibit and produce
works of great interest to all art lovers and many artists reside in the

The Blackall Range is famous for its award-winning dairy,
wines and cheeses. It also boasts a plethora of wonderful cafes, delis
and restaurants. you can expect fantastic, fresh local and organic

as award-winning dairy products, cheese-making, yogurts, speciality
cheeses. Most of the resturaunts are superb offering everything from international cuisine to good old fashioned pub food. Many are conveniently located in the town centres or with specatcular views of the coast and countryside. Underwater World
UnderWater World opens many doors to the worlds of wonder
beyond our own. Plunge into a unique world where you'll see sharks,
whales, crocodiles and stingrays as you would in the wild. With a range
of underwater habitats and an 80m underwater glass tunnel you?ll be able
to see all forms of sea life. There are beautifully coloured coral,
eels, giang barramundi, seals and turtles. Experience these creatures as
you should through seeing how they interact in their own Underwater
World. Bush Walking
The local scenery is superb and may be accessed through
places like Kondalilla Falls or Mapleton Falls National Parks with their
walking trails in fabulous rain forest.The 'Great Walk' around Mapleton, Flaxton and Montville offers some of the most spectacular countryside in the region. Take short half-day or full-day walks, or stay longer to complete the full 58km route.
Mapleton Falls National Park
This park protects remnants of rainforest and wet eucalypt
forest that once occurred throughout the Blackall Range in the Sunshine
Coast Hinterland.Popular for picnicking, bird watching and bushwalking.
To reach this area, travel 13km west of Nambour to Mapleton. Turn north
off the Mapleton-Kenilworth Road.
Kondalilla National Park
The
highlight of the National Park is the gushing waters of Kondalilla
Falls, which cascade down 80m and form a series of crystal clear pools
of water. The pools are popular spots for swimming in the summer months.
Travel west of Nambour to Mapleton, continue toward Montville.

Glass House Mountains National Park
The Glass House Mountains are a group of 13
volcanic peaks the dominate the landscape of the Sunshine Coast
Hinterland. All offering bushwalking, rock climbing and picnicking. This
area may be accessed through the township of Glass House on the Glass
House Mountains Tourist Drive. From town, travel along the Glass House
Mountain - Coonowrin Road.
Wine Tasting
The Sunshine Coast wine region is one of the most diverse
and fastest growing wine regions in Queensland, encompassing vineyards
situated high up in the cooler climate Blackall Range, Kenilworth and
Traveston areas through to the milder climates in the valleys near the
coast. Our wines are testament to the passion of our producers. Food brings much pleasure, and learning to get the most from it is the perfect way to destress.
The Big Go-Kart Track
The Big Kart Go Kart Track lets you experience the most
exciting rides in the World!! "The Big Kart Track" and "The Bungy
Bullet" both are situated at the one location. You can either race your
friends on Australia's fastest Go-Kart track or experience the G Forces
of being shot 50 metres into the air in just over a second. The track is
1200 metres long which makes it the largest & fastest Go -Kart
track in Australia. You can test your skills and challenge your friends
to a race, we have 50 Go -Karts so large groups are no problem , you'll

Sunshine Coast Beaches
The spectacular surf beaches of the Sunshine Coast are only 30 minutes from Maleny and Montville. Visit Bribie Island and Caloundra, Mooloolaba Esplanade and Maroochydore, or venture further north along the coast to Coolum and Noosa.
Markets
The Sunshine Coast offers plenty of weekend markets. A majority of the sell local produce that ranges from apparel, novelties, handcrafts, foodstuffs and bric-a-brac. It is a good idea to get there early so you don?t miss out on some of the festivities or great bargains. Some markets are only open in the mornings, some are only held in the afternoons whilst others are exclusively held at night.

Sunshine Castle
The Sunshine Castle at Bli Bli Castle features a large
display of medieval armour, as well as a dungeon and torture chamber.
But don't be afraid of this there are plenty of activities for the
children. There are 350 dancing dolls dressed in national costums that
represent 57 countries around the world and a doll museum that has over
2200 dolls. In addition, seven fairy stories are depicted in dioramas
and bric-a-brac and toys dating from C1860. Antiques
There are several antique shops in the Montville main
street. Geordi Lane, a wonderful English tea room and antique shop, is
litterally 2 minutes away for our house. Flaxton barn is 3 minutes north
of Montville (about 8 minutes away from our house) with over 200 square
meters of antiques and lots of other assorted goodies.
